18 x 24 inches Acrylic on Canvas. Up until the early part of the 20th century the horse was a critical part of farm life. Draft horses, mules and even oxen were commonly used. Here the farmer is using a sickle mower. Two horses could easily pull the mower, so it is likely that the outside horse is being trained. Original painting is now part of the collection of the Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art in David City, NE, USA
Timithy L. Gordon was born in Farmington, New Mexico in 1946 and now lives in Aztec, New Mexico. Tim developed an interest in art at a very early age and was encouraged by his family and friends though out his life. Tim is largely a self-taught artist and is still learning. While in the Air Force, he painted some 10 murals for the Air Force and is a veteran of Vietnam. Though Tim has worked in many mediums, his interest as of late, with acrylics and watercolor. Tim recently retired and devotes most of his time to art.
