18 x 24 inches Acrylic on Canvas. Up until the early part of the 20th century the horse was a critical part of farm life. Draft horses, mules and even oxen were commonly used. Here the farmer is using a sickle mower. Two horses could easily pull the mower, so it is likely that the outside horse is being trained. Original painting is now part of the collection of the Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art in David City, NE, USA
